518 points china should be closer to the bottom of your list of places to go to medical school, be prepared to do the grunt of the work by yourself. as far as which school to choose, pick one that is in a big city, i would suggest, zhejiang, china medical, tianjin, fudan, peiking university health science ( not in english but not entirely in Chinese) or any other university in a big city.

510 points thank you texas74. i have followed your posts on here closely, and you are one of those people who give encouragement to others even though you might not realise it, and i thank you for that. China is an option, but hearing this from you i guess it won't be such a strong option anymore. I've being on the cucas site, and it seems the schools favourable are: Fudan,Zhejiang, etc. what are your opinions on wuhan? southeast, jilin? and if you don't mind my asking which one do you attend? thanks
511 points choose the big schools...
Zhejiang School Of Medicine
Fudan
Peking
Nanjing
Im in Zhejiang School of Medicine...Trust me ... English is not the best , but the teachers are great but its a pity English is not there first language otherwise we will be the best doctors in the world!
Our teachers are ok...We can understand everything and ask questions. but you can make out the difference when we have international guest lecturers...
510 points hey dhiveng, thanks for your comment..u might remember we chatted on skype 2days ago? i would like to hear more from you about zhejiang, the city and all..
518 points i am sorry but i don't know much about those schools, i study at tianjin medical university, you cannot apply to TMU through CUCAS, i would add tiajin and China medical to that list of school above, i have mentioned in other posts, that people are passing there countries licensing exam. i have heard second hand information that a handful students have passed the USMLE from china medical university, 4 have passed from tianjin, i expect a few more who are preparing will pass within in the next few months. this may be useful to people Beijing USMLE Group-
510 points How succesful are Chinese schools in putting US citizens into US residency system? Do American citizens face less hurdles, or just avoids the visa hurdle? How important is US clinical experience? Can one easily get US elective rotation? Will LORs from Chinese professors, doctors, officials... be taken seriously?
Beijing seems to have the best group. Many pass Step1. How many Chinese cities have USMLE groups?

510 points yah i would agree with Texas, though china may not be great option but if you have tight budget then it ain't bad(if you are not able to get in Big4 Caribbean schools).
i went to china medical university (i have graduated in late 2010) and i did my indian licensing exam and passed that, also i passed usmle step1 and 2(though not 99 but with average scores) and now preparing for 2012 match.
its all upto you ,if you can teach yourself you wont regret much ,personally i don't have any complain about my decision to go to china med university.
cheers
