510 points Apartments are from 180-385. I went for the grand luxury of them all. Let me know your price range and I will email you a few numbers. I know of two places right across the street.
510 points What is your price range? I know of a large one bedroom across the street for 180/month or possibly a highrise apt. steps away starting at 350. with 2-3 bdrs.
510 points Hey, thank you for the reply, my budget can go up to $350-400 dollar. I really want a nice place to stay that won't brake down after few month being there. A 1 bed or 2 bed its ok for me.
should be in Valenzuela first week of august but need to secure a place before to not end up at the dorms.
thank you for your help
510 points hey

Try to live where more Fil-Ams live and you will have a blast. I used to live at the Domingo dorms across from Fatima on Sampaguita St.
513 points hey guys..
sorry to switch the topic..but this is with regards to NMAT scoring.
ive read over and over about how fatima really has no cut off for the nmat, and it's more of a formality.
but here's the thing..ive never taken physics..and i know that's on the nmat..and for chem, i only took as much as the nursing curriculum could teach...so i know im gonna do terrible on the nmat..soooo..should i be worried?..or is REALLY just a formality?
510 points Send me your email address and I will fill you in on the admission and NCLEX process. Don't sweat the NCLEX. Start studying BIOCHEM! I also have that RN after my name.
510 points Pro, I meant NMAT...
$180++ is really luxurious and expensive by Philippine standard. For those of you who don't mind paying that, DO expect a well positioned, well maintained doorman building for that kind of money. Private student studio type dorm arrangements shouldn't go for more than $120 and simple studio apts in wooden buildings where pinoys live cost $80/month or so. A pvt room with shared bathroom is $50 or cheaper. Keep in mind that you pay more if:
1) you are a foreigner and you don't know better
2) To live in the same building as other foreigners (or fil ams)
3) You share your electric meter or if you have "your own" meter which can easily be wired by your landlord so that you end up paying for his electricity as well. Always agree to a flat rate on the electricity ($4 per month if no aircon, $10 per month if regular aircon user).
4) You get suckered into paying more than a month advance + deposit. Some naive foreigners have been duped into prepaying 6 months or more of rental. Wise landlords will then do whatever they can to make your life so miserable that you will move out early and abandon the apartment for a new tenant which will pay the rent yet again.
5) You allow your landlord to install or renovate ANYTHING for you. If he installs an airconditioner it will be used and he will charge you twice of what a new one costs. If you have a mosquito screen put in, he will charge you american pricing. Always hire third parties for this kind of work.
So be smart, know the market, and even if you can afford to pay more, expect some great quality in return. And never ever ever make a long term commitment without seeing all options IN PERSON. Also, I wouldn't rent on the first or the last floor in this rainy country![]()
NMAT is a formality for all but a few Filipino schools. Nonetheless, even if you know NOTHING of physics and chemistry, you can easily score over 50 pts because half of the exam is IQ, not science. If you practice IQ tests, and practice playing with puzzles (especially ones that make you recognize number, letter, and geometric patterns), you'll score very high. Trust me, I studied about a week for that test and scored a 95, its really not very difficult.
