Ouch! So would you recommend people to go there ? I heard that FU said they have USMLE Cirriculum ). Well i m glad that you graduated and now you are done with FU. Good luck on ur study. I went to FEU and i talked to several students from FU in Timog. I felt bad for them, most of these students are good students, they study hard and want to be good doctor. Just the system at FU is so corrupted that they have no choice. I actually did some rotation with FU's students in US, and again they are they know their stuffs. So bottomline from everyone is corrupted school. I hope you got all ur diploma, MSPE, and transcripts. I think one of my friend is still having a hard time getting them. Good luck to w ur steps!

Ps: do u know this girl named RosieMorales? She had some very favor posted for FU long ago. I was wondering is she an agent for the school or actual student. I thnk u can read her post somewhere on this forum to find out.

Is this some kind of joke?

Makes me not even consider going to these type of schools to study med.
Which other med schools are like this?

With all this negative talk about FU, what then is the attraction to attend there considering the many, many other med schools in the Phil that charge considerably less? Are they guaranteeing better education than the other schools???

I dont know really, because i didnt go there. However, from what i have told by those who attend FU are they were sold on the fact that clerkship in US, USMLE cirriculum, and their enquires actually get return information . When i was doing my research for PI medical schools, I would say about 60% of the phone calls that i made to each school were not answered at all. Most of my emails were unreponsived. I have to tell u sometimes the person who answered the phone didnt even speak English. So to get the application or informations are like a major battle in applying for PI medical schools. Bottomline is FU's students are not the problem, it's the admin that is THE FU PROBLEM HAAHAHA! In fact i admire those who graduate from FU. Not only they have to face academic challenges at FU while trying to survive the Admin in the process. Truthly a complishment in my mind. Good luck to all FU students. May God protect you from Dr. Enriquez VP!

Sorry but I have to repeat - with all this negative talk about FU, what then is the attraction to attend there considering the many, many other med schools in the Phil that charge considerably less? Are they guaranteeing better education than the other schools???

As to clerkship and USMLE, how big of a factor is this anyway in the overall picture. Statistically, of the x number of grads from all Philippine schools over the past x years who went to the US, was this ever an issue??

No. This was not and is not an issue. No one can say that before and after FU that no FMG passed the USMLE given the fact it is not part of the curriculum of all other schools.

I think people need to be better informed and not be mongered.

Clinical clerkship is important, if u dont score in the 90%! If you dont believe me then u can check those who score less than 90% wout any US clinical. And if u still dont believe me, then just dont do clinical in US and score less than 90%. Then see what happened to you during your match. Good luck.

Sorry, but I could not really follow what you are saying HA07.

I am only going by the countless of FMG's I am acquainted with who never did clinicals in the US and were matched. All now practicing happilly

I believe the real issue that is being overlooked is how to get to the US after finishing med school. That is the main reason why Nursing enrollment is way up and Med is way low.....

My point is those FMG that u know who practice in US without US clerkship experiences that you mentioned. Did u find out what their step 1 and step 2 score? I bet you most of them score very well +90%. Without US clerkship=without US LOR. Those are very important things to get. However, if your score are exceptional, then you dont have to worry about. You will get plenty interviews without US clerkship. That is how important US clerkship is.
