What do u ppl think are my chances of getting into Kasturba Medical College Manipal India in the MBBS program through nri quota?these are the marks I had in high school in alberta(canada)

The way I look at it is that you never know until you apply. Those are pretty good marks. Have you considered staying in Canada and doing well in undergrad?

Yes, rite now iam enrolled in first year university of calgary biomedical sciences(research program) but my gpa(3.46 on a scale of 4) for first semester sucks...thts why i didn't wanna spend 4 years in biomed and then still no guarantee for med schoo...moreover it takes less time in india than in canada to obtain the same degree
so what do u think abt this? another question i have is that whether i should submit my physics ib(6 on a scale of 7) or not as my alberta education marks aren't tht impressive but another thing is tht if they get my ib transcript they might look at my bio and chem marks which might screw me over(bio HL 4, Chem sl 3),....what's ur opinion on this?

In my opinion, a 3.46 isn't bad, and you still have 3 more years to bring up your GPA. You seem to have gotten a good foundation with the IB programme (I was an IBer myself!). I would strongly urge you weigh out the differences between being a Canadian or American medical graduate versus being a foreign graduate. In most cases, foreign graduates face many more hurdles to licensure and residency programs. I believe Canada is especially harsh with this, with many Canadians who go abroad ending up in the US to practice.

Those are decent IB grades, though the 3 in Chem/SL is not great. Perhaps you could explain it in a letter, in case you do apply.

However, my stance still stands as stated above: consider staying at the University of Calgary, work your rear off as if you're already in medical school, and in 3 years, you may just hold an acceptance letter to a North American medical school! Best of luck.
