I agree that it depends on what school you went to. I graduated from UERM and every time they are asked to fill out a form confirming that I was graduate of that school (for state licensure and hospital privileges) they filled it out and returned it promptly. I didnt even have to call them to remind them. UERM has many graduates in the US so they are used to receiving all sorts of requests. It also helps that I have friends in Manila who I ask to bring a big serving of pancit to the registrar's office.

It absolutely helps to be a graduate from UERM or UST, where a lot of Filipino doctors practicing in the U.S. studied medicine.

I was wondering, why are there not a lot of UP Manila doctors here? Hmmm..that's sort of weird since they claim to be the best, and I think they are, in terms of local board passing rates (which is not an indicator for success in passing the u.s. boards). I highly doubt they're any better than graduates from "other" med schools.

I'm from UP Manila. Most of my classmates are subspecialists (IM and Peds) all over the US. As I said before, school does not matter as an IMG is an IMG. USMLE is still the barometer programs use to screen.
