The board for Eastern Europe is much more active and has many more people with experience going back from other countries. You might want to try it. Tthere you should find the answers to your questions.

It is my understanding, however, that it is up to each state to decide if they accept the degree from a specific school with quite a few states taking their cues from California. At this time I believe there are no English programs in China recognized by California. You would have to study in Chinese as of this time. This doesn't reflect on the quality of the program it's just that the program needs to make an official application which is quite comprehensive and time consuming.

    Look here http://www.mbc.ca.gov/Applicants_Schools_Recognized.htm
Medical Board of California - International Medical Schools Disapproved by the State of California for a start.
What you are looking for is something like what the school Debrecen in
Hungary has where it says (English) meaning their English program is also accepted. After that check out some threads on the European board and contact the Medical Board of California yourself. They responded to me in about two days.

I doubt I can be of any more help but you can ask just in case.

    Hi dreams_zar,
I am agraduate of a Chinese Medical School Peking University Health Science Center. Graduated July 2003
When I filled the forms I sent them as Degree : Bachelor of Medicine.
But I sent the Chinese Certificate and the English translation ( Which said MBBS )
ECFMG accepted my application all the same.
So, I really dont think you are gonna face much problems after how mine went through.
    Hope this helps

    English program

Azkarjam: Did you graduate from an English language program there or the Chinese language program? I didn't know they had an English language program it wasn't clear to me from their website.

Congratulations to you. I have been seriously thinking about changing my plans of going to Eastern Europe in favour of China. Any difficulties at all going back?

No problem for USMLE for China graduates

    Hi,
I know doctors from China Medical schools practising in USA. They are well recognized by ECFMG, USMLE & WHO. A batch of medical students from U of Michigan went last year to Tianjin. For admissions to China Medical Schools see american dream abroad . com. My sister studied there.

This person may be telling the truth but I have my doubts. If his sister really studied her whole degree there then he should know that ADA is a big scam and charge you well over $10 000 (sometimes more than $20 000) more than tuition. (The $30 000+ they mention on the website will definitely be bumped up if you are applying from Canada or the USA just because they think they can suck more out of you)

The website blatantly lies and tells you the schools won't directly accept your applications. This is not true of any school in China. You can save so much money by not going through them. Their Canadian agent is being sued by a student at China Medical University right now because of some blatant lies. He tacked on an extra $16 000 to the price and made up some ** story about why the student had to pay more. They will charge you as much as they think they can get.

The schools will help you with everything you need including finding your own residence off campus if that is what you are looking for. They will also meet you at the airport for a small fee. Be very, very careful when dealing with agents. There isn't a first year student at CMU that used an agent and doesn't regret it. Also, Chinese schools don't require an interview just transcripts.

Which are these schools in India and China that accept students from North America directly after Grade 12 without MCAT and charge low fees?

My school Medical School of Jiatong Univestiy takes ppl in straight out of high school. But the program is taught in Chinese. Most of the self sponsored students are Taiwanese, Malay Chinese. But there are students here from non CHinese speaking countries like Nepal, Brundi etc.
