Before attending any med school, Do your homework. Be aware of the fact that there also might be misinformation out there. Visit the place before you make a drastic change in your life (I didn't and blindly made the change and regret it). Make sure it is right. Look at it from all angles. Enlist as much help as possible. Ask the Important and right questions. Don't pay any agents. Apply directly. So far, chinese schools are teaching foreigners Pre-dominantly students of Southeast Asian backgrounds mostly of underprivileged backgrounds in english for 2 years as of now. The infrastructure is not good. Please, Do Your Homework.

It is up to the individual schools. At CMU (in Shenyang where I am now) there is a Canadian lady (a nurse in Canada) in here 50s in the second year of the English language medium. At 36 you have no worries. I have been in China well over a year now living and working in different places and I can assure you that there are very few actual rules in China that can't be bent/broken. Also, pretty much everything can be negotiated. Hint: tuition.

TianjinMedicalUniversity was one of the first universities in China to be recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and one of 74 universities in China to acquire the approval of the Ministry of Health to accept overseas students Instruction has been carried out in English for 10 years now and teachers are competent in their field of study. Currently there are approximately over 800 foreign students from about 20 countries. There are 2 intakes per year. The main intake is in September, but some students also arrive in March to take an early lesson in Chinese. Along with medical subjects chinese is also thought during the first 2 years of the curriculum, as it is required for daily use and if a student is interested in doing their last year of clinical studies in China. The first semester consists of only basic sciences [Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus] medical subjects commence in the second semester.
