Questions and chances regarding KMC Manipal

Hi, I'm a High School senior from South Carolina here in the US and I have applied for the KMC-AUA program for the Manipal campus. I have a few questions and I would appreciate if any one who is/was in the program or KMC Manipal or knows about the program can answer them.

1. Do NRI's (especially those from the US) really get discriminated by other KMC students and/or the teachers? I have heard mixed opinions about this, and the people I know who have gone to Manipal say there isn't, but after browsing through this site lately, I've heard a lot of NRI discrimination at Manipal.

2. Would it be better to go to the Mangalore campus instead of Manipal? Mangalore is a big city unlike Manipal, which I've heard is pretty much isolated from the rest of India. I've also heard that KMC Mangalore is smaller than Manipal and not as much of a party school.

3. Approximately how many NRI's (specifically from the US) are accepted into this program, and what exactly are the stats of said individuals? I have a 35 ACT, 1580 SAT, 750 Chem and 800 Math II, 3.7 UW cummulative GPA (a 92 average), 400 hours of hospital volunteering, EMT, numerous national and state math awards, and 240 hours of biomedical research experience. Do you think that should be enough to get in?

Hey everyone! I just thought it'd be fun to meet some of the new kids coming into the KMC-AUA twinning program this July. This is my second semester here. Next year, I'll be starting the Basic Sciences program (in the new system, BSc, semester 3). If anyone has questions, im me.. pedanticcynic.

Btw Shobit, you're overqualified. They'll be begging you to come in. Plus, they don't care too much about extracurricular stuff. It's nice to know, but not important.

Firstly, Congrats! upon ur acceptance..
umm..abt the discrimination thing..i doubt tht might be a problem considering many NRI's attend KMC, and the one's tht may create a problem are the locals there..
you can jus stick w/ the NRI's instead of the locals..
umm..Manipal would be a better choice, I guess, because altho it may be isolated..it still is a student city, and it is the most preferable w/ the NRI's..

Don't quote me on this but if you're doing the KMC-AUA program, I think you're only choice is the Manipal campus
