Okay, on the every-growing chance I will apply to Ross and hopefully get accepted..
I poo quite frequently and like my butt to sit on a nice clean porcelin throne, and most medical schools are attached to nice hospitals so you get sparkling marble coated bathrooms. I hear Ross is QUITE a different story. So by this time next year will the bathrooms be UPDATED AND CLEAN? Or will I have to go someplace else?
Seriously.. the fact that there is no serviceable restrooms on campus is putting Ross on a major negative appealment deficit right now..

before some other stress-out students start flaming you and telling you to worry more about academics yada yada yada...i'll answer your question as honestly as i can.
the bathroom cleanliness is NOT likely to change. its not like the university will go and uproot all the toilets on campus and install shiny new ones. its more unlikely that the local janitors and cleaning ladies will clean the toilets properly. lets face it...this is dominica. its not exactly the customer service, good work-ethic capital of the world! lol.
let not forget the bathroom usage habits of current students, faculty and staff either. throw all of that into the mix and you're left with the final result: dirty bathrooms.

why are you even considering ross anyway if clean bathrooms is high on your list for choosing a school...you might as well accept the offer from Harvard, the school with the cleanest bathrooms of any medical school in the world. I saw they were either #1 or #2 on the US News "Cleanest Medical School Bathrooms" list in the last issue.

there's only 1 way to find the right school for you. Visit all AUC, Ross SGU bathrooms to see for yourself. (It should be noted that bathroom complaints do not exist on AUC and SGU forums.)

You do it quite frequently??? Is it because you have more of it inside you than everyone else? Read your post again, and see if it sounds as ridiculous to you as it does to me.
the other schools may not have as many bathroom complaints, but if you are truely "finch"...you can run home to your own personal throne in a matter of 4 or 5 minutes with most apartments.

I live more than 10min away from Campus.
And if the lack of working toilets continues or gets worse,
that may be enough to make me move to PBH.
How are the better rooms in PBH ? Free electricity ? Are there bugs in the rooms ?

The thing that bothers me about the whole bathroom issue is that I don't think that in a normal place that it would be that hard to fix. I mean isn't there some 4 star general Ross out there that can say, "Gosh darnet if my medical troops want working bathrooms then that is exactly what they are gonna get!"
The problem is that none of the generals live here or have to deal with the conditions. The visit and say, oh yeah we should really do something about that, then they go take their crap at Fort Young Hotel or wherever they stay while they are here and then leave the country.
When you don't have to deal with the conditions they are easy to forget about :-(

I have been reading this forum since i started applying for Ross (about 2 months ago.) What I have noticed is that the bathroom subject popped up (or at least seemed to) about every 2 weeks or so. My question is this: why is it not being dealt with. Isn't there anything that the SGA could do about this? And what about Ross officials? Why aren't they doing anything about it. It seems to me that every time this subject comes up, it is an embarrassment to the school. Of course i am not there yet, so i don't know the whole situation, but it does sound like a fixable problem.

Is Ross President going to the same bathroom with students?

Why would the president of Ross be on the island here? Anyhow, how can Ross do something out it at the snap of a finger. We're talking about a major need for tougher toilets...the ones that have pressured flushing, like at airports and malls. The school cant have them ordered, shipped to Dominica, and installed in a matter of a few weeks. I would say the bathroom postings first started early this semester...about 10 weeks ago? Right now, they're busy rebuilding classroom 4...in which they may revamp the bathroom toilets and install higher-grade ones. Perhaps they cannot do this though considering the water system here in Dominica which would disallow such a thing. The toilets they have in the bathrooms are residential type toilets. Maybe the plumbing system here cant handle the high pressure ones we have back at home.

The bathroom problem is being dealt with, everyday. However, when you have students throwing tissue rolls into the toilets to clog it up, there is nothing the University/SGA can do.

You aren't in Kansas anymore.
The water pressure here is severely limited to what can go through the filter. When it rains, the water table is muddy with lots of clogging particles so any water going through the toilets have to make it through the filters like a speed bump. It's not like in the US where the water is filtered at the collecting station then sent full force at you.

If you really are a frequent pooper, you might consider getting an apartment close to the school. It's going to cost you alot more in rent money, but it'll be worth it to not have to go to the restrooms on campus. They really are as mad as they are made out to be on this website. I've seen cleaner public restrooms in Tiajuana, Mexico. There are some "secret" restrooms on campus where you can poop if you really must go on campus. I'm not going to say which restrooms they are on this website because I don't want everyone to know about my "sanctuaries" on campus. If you'd really like to know, send me a private message after you get to Dominica and I'll tell you.

The bathroom situation at ross, at least when I was on the island, was pretty dismal. The bathrooms were, by American standards, dirty. The toilets were the typical ones one would find at homes, not the professional kind; they would clug up easily and make a mess all over the floor. Plus people would gaffle the toilet paper for their own use. And, to top it off, the Dominican cleaning people are really lazy and would never clean the bathrooms. The faculty bathrooms were, for the most part, a good deal cleaner than those of the students. Also, during my last semester on the island, near the anatomy building, they built a new bathroom complex which is really modern. It even has shower facilities for the students who wish to get the yucky anatomy lab smell off.
