A 40-year-old african-american man came to the emergency room complaining of severe headache, dizziness, nausea and vomiting. He has been smoking 1 pack of cigarettes every day for 10 years and he has been diagnosed 2 years ago with arterial hypertension for which further questioning reveals treatment noncompliance.
