it seems as if the jan. 2004 class is full. how long has it been full for? and how long is the waiting list? because some people are still interviewing for a possible jan 2004 entry.

i am assuming you are in the same situation as me. wanted the jan 04 class, but got bumped to may04 class. i believe this is an ongoing process to secure seats for future classes. they are basically informally interviewing for may04 class. jan04 was filled since sept from what i heard and i interviewed in oct. so i am sure the waitlist for jan04 is quite long. they did tell me that that list will be ranked in early december. hope that answered your question.

I received a call this Tuesday stating that I have been accepted to Ross for this Jan 2004. I have to make up my mind by Monday and call up the good Doctor. I sat down and decided with my family that I would go to St. George's Medical School.
So my seat will be opening up for January...for those who really need it.
For Future Students:
Application Mailed: Late September
Interviewed: First Week of November
Accepted: Nov. 25
So you guys that are still waiting for Ross...I hope it works out well for all of you.
As a sidenote:
I think Ross is a great school but I just chose SGU for a couple of reasons.

Nosh: My interview was on Nov 5th and they called me this Tuesday. Although it wouldn't hurt to call your advisor if you have not done so yet. I guess they maybe waiting to hear back from those that are accepted to see if they will go this Jan or not. By the way the person that called me was not my advisor rather a physician from Florida. Hopefully you will hear by the end of next week.
Good Luck Nosh
Dermgirlmd: Thanks...my Thanksgiving was great. I went over my uncle's home in WI. Got here on Thursday morning. I will stay here till Sunday and come back home to Jersey for the SGU orientation that is on Monday.
Have a good weekend and celebrate your acceptance.

to better clarify the acceptance procedure. it was brought to my attention that they accept people by region. thus, some regions fill up faster than others. then, when seats open in one region they start filling the seats from another region.

Yes, but the entire fact that you got BUMPED form may04 means that you were on sort of a waiting list for jan? I think you were on a waiting list, because many of my friends and I are told the class is full and we will have to wait if some people cancel.

sgu jan is not "full" and wont be until classes start really. They are waiting on a number of responces from applicants offered seats. So there really is more or less a month to go before you really are dealing with dribs and drabs of spaces left.

First of all, congratulations! So you're giong to be a doc; good for you! FYI, I work with two docs that went to SGU, one is Gen. Surg., the other is doing his intern year in UROLOGY, yes, urology. Both of them are litterally two of my very favorite doctors I work with, both surgeons mind you. Again, congrats on getting in and having the luxury of options. Anyway, I was sondering if you could help me out with a few issues. I am looking at Ross, SGU, and a hand-full of other Caribbean med schools. Truth be known, I'll most likely go to the first place that tells me I have a seat! I graduate in May with an embarrassing GPA of 2.7. I played around a lot at first in school and cannot, in all liklihood, raise y GPA up to even a 3.0. I plan on taking the MCAT in April. I have worked in an ER and volunteered in a level 1 trauma center for about 2.5 years. All of this I've done full-time in 8 to 16 hr shifts during the night, while going to school during the day. I have shown improvements in my grades but I certainly have not made all A's. What would you recomend for me. I am adamantly determined to get in somewhere, somehow, regardless of how long it takes-litterally! I need advice! Also, do you know anything about Med Prep programs? Thank you!

A handful of other schools? BE CAREFUL. Some will send you an acceptance as soon as they get your application. Don't just choose the first school you hear back from. Ross and St. George's carefully look at your application and that takes some time.
