Have any 4th years/grads consolidated their loans yet? Does anyone know if we have to go through sallie mae or can we choose another lender? Also, has anyone heard yet if the rate will be lower for next year (after July 1).

mac9:

There are a bunch of Financial Aid Consolidation Programs (http://www.qksrv.net/click-1293101-10281110) out there. But most people choose a forbarence until they are done with residency. Once you consolidate or make any payments, it is VERY difficult to request the forbarence. So only choose this if you are sure that you are ready to make the payments from then on. Good luck.

Here's another Financial Aid Consolidation (http://www.qksrv.net/click-1293101-4210645) program that I found that might help. Good luck.

mac9,
are you just starting as a 1st semester student here at Ross? If so, then I ask: You haven't even started- why would you worry about consolidation?!?
If you are a current student, you will get the paperwork-- i've been told that the DOE really explains it to you as well as the other Loan programs-- they do so cause they really like getting their money.
