UsAirways allows us 70lbs/suitcase. We can check in 2 and take one as a carry-on for 40 lbs. Is that correct?
The problem though is when you get to St. Maarten...
If you have so much stuff, is it better to just grab a ferry from St. Maarten instead of flying to Saba?
Do the ferries have a weight limit?
What have you guys done in the past?

I took the ferry when I first arrived.
New Years eve, when I returned from Sint Maarten, I had one bag that probably didn't weigh 20 lbs. I got it three days later from WinAir.
YMMV.
The ferry's have a theoretical limit on baggage, but I've never heard of anyone being held to them.

My bride, toddler and I arrived with 4 70-lb bags, 2 rolling carry-ons, a car seat and stroller. We knew in advance that we would be charged too much by Win Air so we reserved with the Edge ferry. I think they charged $5 per bag over the 2/person limit. It's a steal. You just have to be willing to endure 2.5 hrs of potential rough water vs. a potentially turbulent 15 minute flight. The flight may be quite a bit more expensive if you have a bunch to bring but may also be worth it.
My bride and kiddo were fine but I was vomiting most of the trip (I had a fishy sandwich prior to the ride--very poor decision).
Hope this helps.

Don't know about Saba, but when I flew into Nevis on WinAir, I bought my ticket from Memphis to Nevis from USAir. The 70 pound bags were checked all the way so Winair had to take them. And they never gave me any problems with carryons.

ol man is correct, if you book USAir directly to Saba, Winair will take the luggage without charging you. Having said that, if the plane is full and there is already a pile of luggage, then I assume they will remove the heavy luggage first, and send it over on the next flight, with no charge. Our luggage with my wife and kids squeaked under the USAir limit, and no problems with getting it across with us, AND the flight was full when we came over.

That seems like the best way go to.....
I suppose it's best to go ahead and book the ticket including the flight from Martin to saba.
So... if it's just my wife and I... we could bring 4, 70 lb bags/boxes with carry-ons?

Only if you book through via another airline. And at any rate, anything you don't carry out to the airplane yourself may get delayed.

I emailed the ferry and they said you get one carry on bag, and every other bag was on ly $5 (unlimited).
