As long as you don't waste it, there is sufficient water. If the rains don't provide enough, there is a desalinization plant that can provide water to refill cisterns

Salutations "Badger":

My class started with 69 students. The January semester also seems to be around this area, give or take.

As for the water situation, you will get water as long as your cistern has water. Otherwise, you can also purchase drinking water from the stores. When I stayed at Matthews Dorm, I did not have any water problems. In fact, if you filter your water, you can even drink it. Ciao.

I use a Britta for coffee water, because I bought the thing. The water is just fine to drink.

I'm in the Jan class now. The class size varies a little by subject.

I counted 77 on the Gross Anatomy roster including 4 repeating (they prefer to be called Irregulars). No one failed Histo so I believe there were 73 there, we have an extra one in Informatics. 2 have left the program so we are at approximately 75 students for Gross, 71 for Histo. The room is pretty packed at that size.

On the water issue, we are off campus (my family is here) and we use a Pur attached to the faucet. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the water but the idea of creatures in the cisterns to eat algae wigs me a bit so we filter it (not purified, just filtered). It's fine that way. We don't worry about washing dishes or brushing teeth with it, just tap water there.

To conserve water, we do take military showers (lather with water off) and don't flush too often. We have been getting enough rain so it's not been at all an issue. We'll know more if we hit a dry spell.

Hope that helps.

According to the website, around 50. The numbers seem to be steadily increasing. For the Sept 06 class... probably 70 or so.

For a second there... the scene from the movie Starship Troopers were they were all openly showering together flashed in my mind..

The 50 acceptees on the website has been outdated for sometime. The last few semesters have been accepting over 70 each.

The water situation really hasn't been an issue for us even as a family. Just be judicious with water (don't let it run while brushing teeth or shaving, use it sparingly while washing dishes, etc.) and you'll be fine. It really is fine to drink (I say that having heard a couple of people in classes before mine has some upset stomachs but I'm not sure it was the water...). No one from my class seems to have been bothered by it and we've been doing this for over a month now.

If you bring a Brita Pitcher, bring filters as they are about 3X the cost of back home. The pitchers work great. The faucet mounted filters tend to clog (at least where I lived). Once you get used to the shower thing, it's second nature. Found myself doing it back home.

My class was mid 50's, but they were pushing 70 before I left.

Best of Luck!
