Has anybody here transfered between two foreign med schools and experienced problems when it came to getting a permanent license? I know for example to practice in CA you have to do all your med schooling at CA approved schools. Are there other major problems in licensing for grads who transfered between foreign schools with good standing?

Most US grads don't change med schools so it will appear a bit odd to a PD.

That is true as far as residency goes. But I am concentrating more about permanent licensing, which is different from getting a residency.

No, just adds another layer that the board staff will have to check and get documentation from. I haven't seen any rules or regulations that speak to it after reading the state licensing laws.

Thanks for the info azskeptic, that makes sense.
Has anybody here transfered schools and gone through the process of getting a permanent license who can give some insight to how it was for you?

Being a carribean grad is already a complicated issue with many boards have specific rules for the Islands grads, imagine you carry transcripts from TWO carribean schools..double the headache.
If you want my advise stay in one school unless in certain suition when a school losing accreditation or under investigation[unstable] but again if a school in trouble no reputable school wii honor any credits from such school.
If you are in the big 4,never transfer. If you are in the unapproved schools remember its not greener on the other side.
