Does personality factor into your consideration for admission? If so approx. how much counts?

Selling yourself with your personality could mean the difference between being accepted or being refused.

I talked with a Dean of the medical school in my state of North Dakota a few years ago, and he said that people's ability to communicate with patients and others is extremely important. He said medical schools are looking for people with personalities more than they used to. He said they used to just want the smartest person they could get. Now, he said they realize that just because a person is smart doesn't mean that they will make a good doctor. Anyways, I found it informative.

I personally don't think that your personality will get you in a medical school, but it can make it so you won't get in. Now, if you take it into account that having a good personality might mean that you have made connections that can help you get in, well, then I guess it can help you get in.

yeah, that's what all the canadian med schools say too. then they reject you because you don't have a perfect gpa and an mcat over 33. go figure. always take these "personality over grades" statements with a grain of salt.

I'm sure having a "good" personality is qualitative only to the ear of the interviewer. You may think you're all that, but the interviewer may not.
Having a good personality and attitude can definitely help you. IF I was an interviewer and I am considering admission to two people with very similar grades, who do you think I'd choose?
...
Ahh who am I kidding, if you're a hot girl, you don't even need that!
hehehe...

We are talking about Caribbean admissions. That is where personality, character, charisma and charm make the difference.
