The MCAT is optional at SABA. However, I wonder if that is effectively true. Could an applicant reasonable be admitted without taking it?
For myself, I would perfer not to take it. I currently work full time and will be attending classes again to fullfill prerequists. It would be difficult to have the time to study for the beast of an exam.

Plenty of people at Saba did not take the MCAT. In fact, most people ended up at Saba because they did not take the MCAT...
I would strongly advise you to take the exam. You need the skills from taking the MCAT to do well in med school....That's not to say without taking the MCAT, you will definitely do poorly. But the skills you acquire will help you in coping with the demanding curriculum..
Salutations "warsaw":
I myself did not take the MCAT when I applied to Saba. I was accepted without it. However, keep in mind that if your GPA is low then the MCAT may compensate somewhat for it. Of course, if your GPA and MCATs are both low, then let's hope you have some outstanding extracurriculars, research, or experience to boost your application. In either case, for now, focus on finishing up your pre-requisites first since they are probably more important for you. Then, you may consider taking the MCAT (you can take a review course beforehand) if you feel you need to boost your application and if you feel you can do fairly decent on it. Whatever choice you make, good luck in your journey. Ciao.
