hi,

I'm on H1 visa, and would like to trade shares, or mutual funds. Can anyone guide me what are the forms that I need to fill out, and to whom should I submit:confused:?

Some online brokers like charlesschwab and sharebuilder dont accept applications to open an account who is not a citizen of US:cry:.

scottrade.com accepts applications from non-citizens, and they gave me a form to fill out, which asks whether I'm subject to backup withholding or not? what is backup withholding, and are people on H1 is subject to backup withholding?

Any help is greatly appeciated.

Thx..:bored:

I am a Canadian who trades US equities using a Canadian bank's online trading service. Use your home country's services if you cannot trade with a US provider.

later....

Oh ya remember to be careful and not lose all your med school loan money. LOL!
