Hi folks:

I keep hearing SABA is far less expensive then AUC.

But when you crunch the numbers the difference is around $15,000. Is that right?

AUC tuition 10K * 9.5 = ~$95K

SABA tuition - 7.7K * 10 semesters = ~$77K

Am I on substances?!

That looks correct according to what I've been able to find out.

but then there's the housing/living costs, which is much cheaper on saba for the first two years.

Salutations:

Don't forget that AUC has a much higher standard of living cost. Also, AUC's tuition is approximately $100,000. This is based on the figures from their website. Ciao.

I was accepted to AUC before even applying to Saba. When I got the fin aid packet, I saw the $231,000 estimated cost of attendance and about choked. After asking around a little, it seemed the Saba grads were coming in around $150k-$160k. There were other factors that pushed me to Saba (smaller class sizes, easier to do ALL U.S. clinicals, California approval), but the cost was definitely a big factor.

don't let cost derail you from your first choice..or rather make you change your mind...saba is by no means settleing for a school but you gotta see if it is for you as far as living conditions there is a reason why its more expensive in sxm with our fancy flushing toilets and all...hehe

i chose auc over sgu based on cost alone and now i realize that cost shouldn't have affected me as it did. sgu was roughly 50k more i think.. sounds like alot right? when you are done the min monthly you will earn is 10,000, the difference in my loan would be $60 a month...out of @10,000 do you think the price of 2 DVD's will make much difference?

i will end auc with 230k total loans of which 21k is undergrad. what they project is taking out the max each semester, so if you don't live an expensive life you can get by with much less....i also have 2 kids btw so i took out more than if i were single.

my .02 is that you should look at the big picture and not fixate on any school. you should match up what you need with cost almost as an afterthought. some people can't live on saba for many reasons just like some may not succeed in sxm bc of all the distractions. good luck med school is awsome you'l have a blast

What a school charges seems to be directly related to how much students can get in loans. G

What I was told from the SGU administration was that the total cost will be $225 K. So it is probably only slightly more than AUC. The figure is more or less varified by the current SGU students...I am very surprised that the cost at AUC can be so high, considering the tuition and fees are only $100 K...

Right about the looking at the big picture -- I can't live on Saba and went to SGU instead.
