My name is Ariel, and I am 34 years old and come from Chicago. I will be starting at Saba Medical School this January. I come from a medical family and thus know that Medical School is going to be a huge challenge, but at the same time I know that with hard work and desire a medical degree is attainable. My brother, an ophthalmology resident told me to understand the big picture and not to get bogged down with all the details that will be thrown our way throughout our medical coursework. I think this is very good advice and wanted to pass this on to my future medical schoolmates.
Also do any of my future classmates who come from a medical family feel as much pressure as I do? I do not want to disappoint my family but most of all myself. I have worked very hard to get this opportunity to study medicine.
14 days left in cold snowy Chicago before I arrive to the tropical paradise of Saba.
Also did you buy all the required books that were on the booklist? If not which ones did you guys not buy and why?
Regards,
Ariel
