After checking with the medical board of California, Spartan was disapproved by the state of California in 1995. Does anyone know why? Something major must have been wrong with the cirriculum and/or school that the officials from California felt it was not satisfactory.

Califstudent:
Pat Park is an official CA Medical Board rep and has offered to occasionally answer questions for us here at ValueMD....she can likely better answer your questions. However, my understanding is that it cost lots of money to apply for state board consideration for approval and Spartan's low tuition cost are simply not enough to cover expenses like that. I have also heard many rumors about Financial Aid problems, etc., but these are merely unconfirmed rumors as far as I'm concerned.
As I believe I've told you before, if you have your heart set on CA, you are likely better off attending one of the very few schools with current state approval. If attending CA is a desire, but not a requirement, then that might be a different story. Good luck.
