Hey pacemaker... I'll be attending Saba in May of 2004 too. But believe me, I made an educated decision about going there. I've done a lot of research on the school and have contacted several dozen recent graduates that are currently in residency. There is a wealth of information out there... it's just a matter of digging it up. I chose Saba because of the affordable tuition, smaller class size, U.S. clinicals, small island without distractions, among others. When it comes right down to it... all a school offers you is the opportunity to learn the material and pass the boards. You'll get out of it what you put into it. Saba has a good reputation and is getting better every year as students continue to match into residencies all over the country. I'll look forward to going through the process with you. Contact me if you have any questions.. I can share some of the things I've learned about Saba.

thanks for the up beat remarks. it does seem apparents that if you use your time wisely then good things will turn up. i guess my biggest fear is the degree of eduaction we will be receiving from the professors and how useful it will be for the board exams (not quite sure about this particular aspect of the whole saba thing). I'll be graduating from with my pathology degree from UBC in April 2004; in this program, teachers that teach med students lecture us aswell and some are not very impressive. any thoughts on this situation with repect to saba.

It's good to see that Saba is getting some representation from some fellas out west! A couple of Colorado guys and I'm from Utah.... hopefully we'll feel right at home (sort of) on the mountainous island of Saba. (minus the ski resorts) :) Hibiscus... I've got a friend that lives in Englewood. It's been a couple of years since I've been out to see him, but Denver is a cool place.
