Hi everyone,
I took my exam today.I am not sure how I did. I had to guess a lot. Some qs were pretty straightforward. My exam was mostly on biochemistry, neuroanatomy, pathology.Microbiology was easy and pharmacology was easy too. I had few qs from gross anatomy. Ok let me mention the topics I remember.
Pathology-
mostly renal, respiratory and cardiac. Know the murmers verywell. Renal-obstructive uropathy, glomerulonephritis and renal cell carcinome. Breast-pagets disease, mastitis and intraductal papilloma, seminoma, endometrial ca and adenomyosis. Aortic aneurysm, anemia, G6PD def, heamolytic anemia, myelofibrosis, diverticulitis, adenocarcinoma, chron's disease, sliding hernia.
Physiology, mostly from endocrinology, cardio and few from respiratory,hypothyroidism, ADH, Cortisol,
Biochemistry was huge-know all about enzyme deficiencies, pedigree, anticipation, PCR, blot technics, ene expression, different types of RNA and also collagen diseases (know it very well). I have more than 3 qs from it. ketone body,second messenger, vitamin A with teratogenic effect.linkage, down's, porphyria.
Microbiology was easy, know HIV and HIV related all things,CMV, H influenzae, clostridium, staph, strepto,
Pharmacology-Acyclovir, HIV drugs, cancer drugs, ANS, heparine, warfarin,Amoxycillin, INH. Hydralazine, Beta blockers, SSRIs, Opiate.
Behavioral Science-lots of ethics qs, sensitivity, specificty, PPv, NPV, Schizoid, antisocial, avoidant, stress disorder, adjustment disorder.
Anatomy-Mostly neuroanatomy. Know the lesions, and also lots of qs from base of the skull, which tumor lies in which foss, know that very well. I got couple of qs from that.
Immunology was my weakest area, I don't even remember the q s. Know the cytokines and immunodeficiencies.Graft rejection.
