Any previous 5th semester who took ICM in Maine...What exactly did you encounter in the Osce exams? Were you expected to do the Mini Mental status exams, or was this dependent upon the patient you got. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

What about the ICM final? Any pointers? Was it worth studying the blueprints? Or were questions from left field like the midterm?

ICM final was pretty hard, and she focussed more on the presentations. There were few qs from blueprints and a few from midterm. I would suggest you to focus on the presentations as well as the blueprints. Good luck.

OSCE's were very focussed. If you think that the patient might have some CNS problems, you should do the mini mental exam. However, when I say it's focussed........make sure you do some extra exams. For ex, I had a teenage patient who was gaining weight w/o any changes in her diet or exercise. So, I performed a thyroid, abdomen, and lung exam. Also, you make sure that you talk to the patient in general terms so that they can understand. The most important part is counselling the patient. Anyways, good luck again.
