Hello All,

I have just recieved my acceptance package and am as excited as can be! I have several questions that don't seem to be answered in the packet. Your help with these questions or any relavant info is greatly appreciated.

1. Is there a list of EVERYTHING you should bring from home: computer, printer, pen drive, clothing, school supplies, extracuricular items, etc...

2. Do you only live in the dorm for your first semester? When do you start looking for another place?

3. What are average weekly food costs and where do we eat?

4. Should i start reading the books now?

5. I hear that there is free time in pre-med 1, what is there to do?

6. What is the best way to talk to people back home?

7. How is it to get our own internet access aside from the library?

Any respones would really help. Thank you so much!!

There are beaches & pool for swimming & snorkeling. There is gym in the dorm, and tennis court, basketball court in school.

6. What is the best way to talk to people back home?
Thru internet, very cheap.

I was wondering the same thing...

what are the costs involved for the above?

Also, is the power supply different from N.America?

I know that when I go to Europe, I cannot plug in my PDA w/the adaptor I use in the US.

How safe is the power supply?

How safe is the power supply?

In the dorm and the apt. near school, the power supply is 112V, but I heard there is also 220V in some houses on Nevis. The plug is just the same as N.America. I can use all my appliances with no problem in the apt.

We do have power outage sometimes, sometimes we have 2-3 times a month, and sometimes there is none. The dorm and the apt. and the school of course have backup generator, so they aren't affected. Most houses on the island don't have generators. Library doesn't have generator. You should plug your computer on the surge protector just in case.
