Does anyone know what the best time would be to arrive on the island for Jan 04? I am looking at buying a ticket and I don't know if I should arrive before Dec 31. I think I want to spend Christmas here and then leave right afterwards, let's say on the 26th. Whould that give me enough time to get settled? I think classes dont' start until Jan 12.

Thanks guys, I know you're working hard studying for the finals.

Good luck!!!

We suggest that you arrive at least two weeks before classes start. The last pre-orientation session is January 5th and the Orientation is Saturday, the 6th. Classes start on the 8th. I would not arrive on January 31. New Years will not be much fun if you come in that afternooon. I would come on the 26th if you are want to be home for Xmas....but be aware that Dec. 26th is Boxing Day, a national holidayso stores, etc. will not be open that evening for you to buy anything.

Did you say classes start on the 8th? That's a Thursday. I was expecting them to start the following Monday, the 12th. Can you clear that up for me?

I think Dean Wagner was confused with the Sept dates. However, I am waiting for him to clear up the issue since I was also under the impression that classes start on Jan 12 as well.

When is orientation? On the Ross webpage:

http://www.rossmed.edu/Medical_School/Academic_Calendar/academic_calendar.html

it says orientation is Jan 10th, but I think I got mailings that said Jan 6th and on the forum, people are saying 6th.

And when does school start....the above post by Dean Wagner said the 8th?

Someone clarify....

thanks

The academic calendar has changed since I posted that schedule last August. Classes now start opn the 12th.

Also keep in mind that the posting was made when I thought I would be in charge of Orientation so I knew what the schedule would be. Now that others are in charge of Orientation, they will have to post their schedule when it is decided. Please do not use my former postings about the start of my semester as it is now inaccurate.

I was under the impression that everything was closed on Thursday, January 1 and Friday, January 2 due to public holidays- and then there are limited business hours on Saturday (January 3) and nothing is open on Sunday. If this is correct, then how does arriving on January 4, Sunday, sound- fresh and ready to begin searching for a place to live on Monday morning?
