View Full Version : Where Do you Guys Get Your Ticket From?
I'm coming for the Sept. class, and was just shopping around for a ticket to SABA. Where is the best place to get it? Cheaptickets.com has one for $440 one way...is it reliable with St. Martin? It's from Chicago to San Juan, from San Juan to St. Martin, from St. Martin to SABA.
Thanks!

Just keep plugging away at Cheaptickets, Travelocity, Orbitz, Expedia, etc. Oddly enough, I found the best deal by flying through Puerto Rico and connecting on LIAT to SXM (St. Maarten) and via Winair to Saba. Don't forget you can travel to Saba via the ferry or Winair. The Ferry is slightly cheaper and allows for more luggage than Winair, but it takes longer (an hour or so vs. 10 minutes) and it doesn't run every day. Winair has up to 4 or 5 flights per day (all in daylight hours - nothing after dark).
It seems that once you get out of the states air fares seem to drop a little. I'm no travel expert, but these are the things that have worked for me. Let me know what you find! 8)
Best of Luck!
Thank you ResearchingGuy! How far along are you at SABA or have you started?
Do you know how much luggage weight Winair allows vs. what the Ferry allow? I definately will have 2 full suitcases, my laptop with a bag as carry ons.
Where do I get info. about times the Ferry leaves, cost, ect?
Do I need to get a ticket directly from Winair just to be safe? I was going to use Cheaptickets.com like you said, but I heard students had problems where Winair lost their seat.
Thanks again! :D

Though I had a ferry schedule from my visit, I can't seem to find it. My family and I took Winair over when we visited because my wife has a problem with sea-sickness ( ), so I currently don't have particulars on the ferry. We called Winair directly and purchased our tickets with a credit card, so we had them in hand when we arrived. No seating problem. I start school this May, so I should be able to get some very up to date info back to you here in about two weeks. Thanks for your patience Hope!
Best of Luck!
Thank you for sharing that info. with me. Can you tell me how much a ticket from St. Maarten to SABA costs via Winair? So, you bought a separate ticket from wherever you're leaving from to Puerto Rico then from Puerto Rico to St. Maarten? If that worked for you, I think I'll do that too. Thanks!
