Are optional books helpful at all or will i just be wasting my money?

I have yet to crack an optional book. The only exception was prolly the Rohen/Yokoche atlas for Anat, looked at it a few times when someone else brought it to lab.... wait, then I really didn't crack it, I was elbow deep while they pointed.... so no, I have never cracked an optional text. :)
However, my experiences may not be typical, either. :oops:
