Hey guys, what's going on? I know I've already posted up the same topic already but I needed some more detailed answers, so any further input is appreciated. AUC veterans, what would I be missing if I missed the first day of classes? Also, is orientation mandatory or just for introduction purposes? I really appreciate the help, it'll help me decide what to do. Someone already posted that orientation is no big deal..but the more information I can get, especially about the first day of classes, the better..thanks a bunch.

i understand you need to make your mind up but the answers don't change when you re-phrase the question...hehe
here it goes for all classes:
-first 45 minutes you go over the syllabus
-profs tells you their theory on how to succeed, study/party habits.
-somewhere in the day the dean pops in with the professors and they go over the same stuff again (sucess, hard work, study)
the only "valuable" stuff you will be missing is that when the profs are done upper semester students give you the 'unofficial orientation' where you learn about the traps of the strip clubs/casinos/bars....a few scary stories on what happend last semester to so and so when theyy partied too much and also what happened to that other person when they got (fill in the blank) stolen. you actually got most of the valuable info on this forum.
wait now that i think about it the deadline to register with out a late registration fee is 4:00 pm monday the 1st so if you come on the 2nd you will pay a late fee. other than that relax you don't miss much. and if all else fails take a 1 valium 10mg po bid......

if you register for classes after 12pm on monday the 30th, there is a late fee of 100 dollars.
as far as the orientation, it depends what you want to get out of it. some stuff is important and some stuff is repeated. monday you will be in class for orientation from 9-11.30am or something close to that. your first lectures will be on tuesday morning. i know some of the orientation advisors wil be meeting with some of the students on monday night.
later,

Hey, you can't blame me for trying to find something positive about that class since you all seem to complain about it!
