Well, not that anyone has been on the edge of their seat to find out, but I decided to live in the overpriced but convenient Campus Village Apartments right by campus. My main priority was to live close to campus, and that is pretty much the closest that you could get (except for the dorms). I can't live there because of my pets, but it sounds like the demand would have made it difficult anyway.

Because I want everyone to be informed, I'll let you know that I am paying 1300 a month for a 1 bedroom. (1200 for a balcony and 100 for my pets per month). Pretty steep, huh? I think the location will be totally worth it. You can get one on the ground floor for 1100, but I just wanted a balcony, plus I figured it will be safer.

I am arriving on the 18th and Jon (such a kind sir) is picking me up from the airport. and driving me to my humble abode. I hope to see everyone there soon and keep posting on this site even when you are in the transition of finding a place...I'll be glad to help you all out if you are arriving after me (transportation, a place to stay for a few days, etc...) I hope to lease a car, and set up my cell phone right when I get there...we'll see.

See you soon!

Congrats!!! You're one step closer than most of us newbies.

Oh and, as for the pre-invitation acceptance on the pick up from the airport for me too, Jon. I'll be waiting for you at the termninal.

Hey Jon, you can be the newbie class welcoming committee. Charge 10 bucks a trip/newbie and you'll soon pay off that 200k debt!

$1300 for one bedroom!! I'll most likely be paying $350 for a furnished two bedroom suite with all utilities included... which I can share with a roommate to reduce the rent down to $175 per month. But then... St. Maarten is a major island.
