Hello.
I am glad that I am not the only one that worry about getting enough coffee supply when I am in a med school in SXM. I am sure that the locals have coffee places. The coffee is the world most popular drink for sure despite the brown stain on my teeth.

After you take your clinical skills practical, you'll be able to start caffeine drips IV...
No Starbucks I've seen (although I was pleasantly surprised to find an ACE hardware, a True Value, NAPA autoparts and a Radio Shack!) but alot of smaller cafes if you spend the time to look.
Aloha,

There's an Internet cafe in Maho that has 'supposedly' Starbuck's coffee, I think... or some brand name stuff, I dunno, I don't pay attention to all that yuppie crap. Plain ol' Yuban for me, man....

Ahhh yes, but the thing is, the French and American ideas of coffee are worlds apart!
See, in the US, we get the largest cups of coffee we can find, 32oz or so, put all kinds of crap in it, to make it taste like anything but coffee! Hazelnut, mocha, etc. then charge you $4 for it.
The French take their coffee, concentrate it, and drink a 2 oz shot of coffee that you have to chew to get down, then charge you 4 Euros for it.
Seems the only thing French and American coffee markets have in common to me is the overinflated price!

*****,
I couldnt agree with you more. I havent found a good cup of coffee on this island yet, besides the stuff i make myself. The coffee at the internet cafe is overpriced and rancid.

Are they willing to wheel a car right outside of the school's premise and make a quick buck? Hummm They can call it, Med School's Pharmacy. (anybody got a better name?)
