Hi All,
Am hoping that someone can answer my questions. I am considering applying to CAHSU. I have heard all of the mixed reviews, but I am really concerned about my future potential as a licensed doctor in the US.
I have heard varying reports on the USMLE pass rates. Does anyone know how the school helps students prepare for the exams? Do they offer extra material or a course or something?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Lynn

Believe me, you are not the only one with that same concern...
Many of us in here are still looking for this answer.
let's wait for one!

take an advice from a previous student
run from there as fast as you could and saty away as far as you could...no clinical sites avaliable, wasted alot of time waiting for a clinical spot.

from what i know, they have clinicals in washington, con., illinois and ny. i know a student that got in the 80's on step one and another that got 99, from what they tell me.
the school is still in its infancy (10 years), and is heavily planning on gaining recognition from various US states etc.
hope that helps.

there is no such a thing with the clinical sites do not say something to confuse people the only 2 sites they have (beside mexico ) CT which you have to go down on your knees and wait for at least 3-6 month until Modavi meet you so you could get a spot there
the other site is NY which you can not do more than 12 weeks there anyways.
for the other sites you mentioned in washington or whatever , i never heard of ,and for your information i waited for 6 month to do clinical because lake of sites....but i was offered to go to mexico all the time which i refused because you do not learn any thing there it is just waste of money and time.

i am not saying you are wrong, that is terrible. but they are trying to get new ones. and applying for recognition in ny (in order to do more then 12 weeks of clinicals). they push for mexico b/c of lower costs, i guess.
there aren't any schools that really anyone is happy with 100%
however, i know for a fact that there are several practicing licensed and capable doctors in the US from this school

You are correct about both of the things you said... no one is ever happy with everything about their school... everyone manages to find at least ONE bad thing about the school.... NO ONE IS PERFECT, JUST LOOK AT YOURSELF....
Yes! there are some very capable physicians licensed in U.S who went to CAHSU... i have personally spoken to two of them... they both had good and bad things to say about school... they were overall satisfied and said that they would go back there again if they had to do it all over again...
You can contact WCB22 and he will help you with any information you need about the school... GOOD AND BAD...
you can also PM me about any information about CAHSU as i have done about a 6 month research on this(and some other schools) school for myself.

when i was there, during the 5th tri, we had kaplan review course in order to help for step 1, as that was a big concern for myself when choosing a carribean med school; if it's still there, i'm not sure, as this was implemented for the first time back in 2002, so i don't know if that helps much, but somewhat answers the question regarding usmle help, best of luck in wherever you go!
