A few questions:
Any opinions in regard to living in the Residence Hall? Also, can anybody give me some details concerning the differences b/t a Standard Single vs. Standard Suite Single vs. the Deluxe Suite Single?
Also what's the proximity of food market(s) and the GYM from the RH?
Also any word concerning the Indies Suites - are they available? How far are these units from campus?
Is it easy to locate single apartments? Generally, what is the price range for a single?
Finally, to get a car or not to get a car - opinions? How's public transportation?
Thanx

Great questions, and we are here to help! Getting a car here is probably your best bet, just my opinion. Residence halls are great; I highly recommend them. Apartments cost a fortune (can be 3 x the price in the US - $1,500 easy), unless you share the expenses. I don't know anything about the hotels, but I highly suspect they are expensive like most things on Grand Cayman. Very nice grocery store right up the street. Students frequent it constantly because they have everything you need! You will love the island and especially the school!!! Congratulations, and we will see you soon. Welcome to SMU!!:D
SMU is #1!!!! :D :p :D

The RH or the RS will ease your transtition to the island. By coming to the school housing, the only thing you will have to do is to unpack and you are ready to go to school. It is a better process than look for an apartment, set up your electricity, water, internet and cable.
For the car, it all depends on what you do. Students use bikes and public transportation a lot too.
See you soon in Cayman

Anyone can apply for/live at the RS regardless of semester. Apply ASAP for next semester assuming it's open then! Hope this helps.

So is the RH for first semesters or do you have a choice? Just curious of how all this works.

You do have a choice between the Hall or the Suites. I believe that is what you were asking. There are 2 different applications.

Well I have no idea which one I applied for then. I submitted my papers sometime ago and there was only one application at that time. Doesn't really matter tome though which one I get.
