From the SMU website: "Applicants who have taken the most recent MCAT must submit scores to the Admissions Office in Florida. Those who have not taken the most recent MCAT are recommended to sit for this exam prior to enrolling."

Anyone know if this policy has changed? I thought it used to say that the MCAT was recommended but not necessary.

Recommend does not equate to required. I guess the MCATs are not required yet, but will confirm. Send the Admissions office an email, they can clarify it best for all. Let us know what you find.

If you sit we would like the score for statistical purposes. It is suggested that you sit for the exam. It is, however, NOT REQUIRED.

Currently. But, as a prospective student, you should be well aware that it could very well change, and soon. I highly suspect, and this is complete speculation on my behalf, but as I said, I HIGHLY suspect that it is going to change. SMU is drawing some of the hottest students around right now, and it is only going to get more and more competitive. In fact, I predict May's class is going to have to have it. But, I could be wrong. Best wishes!:D :D :D

SMU is #1!:D :p :D

currently I'd say 30-40% of my classmates have taken the MCAT. I think it is good to at least sit for the exam but that is just my opinion and again your circumstance may not allow you to.

Either way good luck with your application to SMU

I recommend that you fork over the cash to Kaplan/Princeton Review and get your MCAT up to US standards... Then GO stateside!

MANN! with that GPA.... they'ed probably accept you in a heart beat...

how can you keep up that kinda GPA... i never understood that... Can you tell me your method of study???

Also, if you have such a high good GPA, obviously you would have been very good in school... made A's in most of your classes... then why could'nt you score high enough on MCAT....? what do u think the reason was for that?

I would also suggest that you work on your MCAT score and try for a state side school. Your sure to get accepted somewhere if you can manage to get your MCAT score in the mid 20's.
