Hey guys,

So I sent out my application to Ross and SGU on September 15th. It took about another 2 weeks for my reference letters to finally arrive. I received a reply from SGU informing me of a complete application on Oct 5, 2005 and one from Ross on Oct 3, 2005. Then around the 11th of October Ross informs me of an interview that could take place the next week but I opted for October 21st. Ross indicates that I should know of an acceptance by next week. Today it's the 25th of October and I'm severly debating whether I should even bother to go to SGU for an interview for January admission if they ask, because I sincerely doubt that there will be any seats left so why cough out the $500+ bucks for airfare and a hotel when in the end I'll have to wait till September for admission of which I'd rather get the headstart via Ross.

Does anyone have any insight on whether SGU has spots that fill up right until first day of orientation? The way I calculate it, I probably won't hear of an acceptance until the middle of December and that means there is only 2 weeks to get finances and things in order... is this even possible? Has anyone been faced with a similar circumstance, or should I be content with Ross admission and keep my $500 bucks?

Well, from what I have heard the class is about half full right now and could potentially fill up until the start date...

THe other thing is why do you have to spend 500 bucks? SGU has interviewers all over the place and typically you can interview where you live...

I applied for the August '05 class at SGU in May. The SGU people were like rush rush to get everything done but when I got accepted in early July they told me that I was waitlisted for the August class and accepted to the January class. During the entire application process they never mentioned to me that getting accepted for Jan instead of Aug was even a possibility.

it has happened before that ppl get accepted 1-2 weeks before class starts and yes u can still get ur paper works done. if that is the case, hand in all ur loan paper beofrehand and if u were accepeted they would just have to process it and the loan approvement process usually happens right on the spot, itsthe paper work that takes a while.
good luck

Do not refuse any interviews and do not withdwaw any applications! Go to the Ross interview and the SGU interview. Make your decision once you have the acceptances in your hand. Do not reject SGU from your life simply because you do not want to spend a paltry $500. Compared to a $150,000 education, what is $500?

If you apply now, you can still get into AUC for January. They have a simplified admissions system. If they think you can make it, you are accepted without interview. If they think you will fail, they will reject you without interview. If they think you are borderline, they ask for an interview.

Also consider if you have not already that if you start SGU in January 2006, you will have more vacation time but make the 2010 residency match. If you start AUC or Ross in January 2006, you will have less vacation time but you wil make the 2009 residency match.
