Hi I was just wondering if someone can basically describe their typical day at SMU in cayman. Everything from what time you get up to all your classes to activites and when you go to bed.....lol....if you go to bed....sorry I dont mean to sound creapy just want to get an idea of the environment and lifestyle while students are there. Also if anyone who is bold enough to take pictures of their day ie, calsses, labs, activitues and so on......I know this is asking a lot but any feedback would be asewome. The only way to get an idea of what the days are like is to be there but I want to know what I am jumping into before I jump if that makes any sense. Looking forward to your responses.......
ps: Best "realistic" day story told will win a ton of smilies. So go hard:lolup:

my friend told me its a lot of work but after about 2 or 3 weeks you begin to adapt. They said the profs in 1st semester are excellent!! They also said that the only time people take time off to relax is after exams although a few may go out on friday night.
The 1st few days are a bit nerve racking but you get the hang of it really quickly, pretty much right after the teachers introduce you to the school and the material.
Good luck incomming students

Hi. I get up at 7:30am; class begins at 8:30am. Each day we get out at a different time (never later than 3pm or so). I am not willing to share the exact schedule because I am not sure that would be appropriate. I go home and study until 10:30 or so, go to bed and get to do it again the next day. I love it! On the weekends I get up later and study roughly from 10am or so until 8pm or so. This is a very rough schedule, and I must say that I do take a lunch break for about 45 minutes or so, a dinner break of 45 minutes or so, and a snack break for 30 minutes or so. You get a great education at SMU, and you get very used to the schedule. Best wishes!:D

If the class schedule remains the same for you guys, here is what you have to look forward to. My alarm goes off at 6:45am and I snooze until 7:30. lol. I then drive to school somewhere between 8-8:15am. Class starts everyday at 8:30am. The longest classroom day we have is 5hrs, which is 2hrs Histo, 2hrs Embryo, and 1hr Gross lab. I get out every day at 2:20pm, but some of my friends have a late Gross lab and don't get done until 4:20 on one of the days. Let's see...I get home and take a 30 minute nap or so (maybe by the pool in a lounge chair), and do random things around the res hall. I try to study 2-4hrs a day with somedays even more. I find that I have a hard time studying at the res hall, so I go to a coffee shop or to the school. There I feel like I can focus better, and I can usually get about 2hrs of studying done there, and drink coffee...mmm...coffee... I find there is a lot of time where you could goof off if you're not careful. I recommend trying to get in some sort of a routine pretty quickly, but not to be anal about it. You've got to have a little bit of the island mentality. lol. Friday's are for going out! Saturdays consist of some sort of beach activity, and some studying. Sunday is more of the same. Expect to study a lot the week before and during exams. I think I studied 7 hrs each of the past two days with lots of short breaks between. Now, my disclaimer is: THIS IS MY SCHEDULE and I don't recommend anyone copying and saying, "UFTim said this is how to do it". LOL. I'm still trying to figure it out, and you too will have fun figuring out what works for you. So far, this works for me.:D
