It seems taht whenever someone sticks up for Ross that are accused of being a Deanor professor. On the other hand, if someone blatantly bashes Ross, they are assumed to be Nasir. Although the person Stephanie B. did appear to know way too much about Ross to have not been a student his/herself. i will amit that the tone of Stephanie B./ Nasir was very similar, but whats worse is that comments like should never be taken seriously since they are so inflammatory and defensive. If Stephanie B./ nasir really was a student at Ross, why have nothing good to say? Didn't Ross give you a chance? It is a shame that you didn't finish for whatever reason, but is Ross really all to blame? That to me and other wise prospective students is just a huge red flag. Taht as an individual you take no accountability for your failure. It may be true that the curve a Ross is tough, the classes may be tough(they're accelerated), but wasn't this your chance to prove that US med schools made a mistake, that you dod have what it takes. Another thing that is a red flag is how you bash Ross and how their professors suck, and how Ross throws parties to divert the sudent body's attention elswhere, basically implying that Ross along with other Carib school are second rate and a waste of money( ripi-off I bleieve commly used). Yet for some reason you, being the medical genius that you are, couldn't make it? HMMMMMMMMMMM?
Ther a many reasons why Ross ( I don't know about other Carib schools b/c I have not researched them to the extent that I have reseached Ross and I will not make the gross error of speaking on a subject which I, myself am not familar with, are you listening?). here are my observations thus far, please feel free to add your own should I leave out something that must be considered.

1. It is about money, but not in the way that Nasir/Stephanie B. says. The university makes money on students paying tuition every semester, yes this is true. So, in my estimation they make the most money when a student finishes the full ten semesters of course work. they do not stand to make very much money if half of their first semesters drop out, in the end they get more money if they keep you.
If you take in 150 and 75 drop you lose out on those 75 students for what would have been their remaining nine semesters. Not very smart to me, but it's just a thought.

2. The point was made that the clinical rotations are done in the US, so in essence all the island really serves a purpose for is the book work to pass step 1. Once you are past that point you are in the states and working in a hospital with american patients. Oh and by the way, you are typically working in these hospitals side by side with US med students, not is some rancid dungeon of a clinic in the Bermuda Triangle( no offence to the BT it just was the first thing that came to mind). Where's the drawback in that?

3. It doesn't matter how badly someone( especially on an anonymous forum) badmouths a school, it won't discourage propective students from trying to achieve their dreams. Especially when for most people a Rossgrad is within arms reach. So for them it's like " man, if he/she did it then I can do it." One with such rash remarks can never change the fact that as long as Ross continues to produce MD's then people will lokk to Ross to fufill their dreams.

That is all I can think of right now I may think of more later. For every lie there is a half-truth, so if"Ross is a rip-off" then I maust think that it is half true and not really a "rip-off." Based on what I have seen and heard Ross is a challege that few are up to, it is in a third world country, it is an island, and oh, IT'S MEDICAL SCHOOL. IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE EASY, OTHERWISE EVERONE WOULD BE A DOCTOR. I look at it as a rite of passage for those who seek to realize their dream, thus those in it for reasons otherwise will find it difficult to maintain focus and drive.

And that as they say is that.....

Very well written, the fact of the matter is that everyone can not be doctors. I'm currently a second semester student and let me tell you I love it. I study hard, and guess what I get good grades. It's very simple, people just don't want to put in the time. Buy the way, let me end the argument about making money. I used to work for a medical schools admissions office and for all of you who don't know this, they make no!!!!!!!! money of students. The department make there money from grants and research loans from the state, and alumni of the school.
As you might guess, Ross does not have research grants from the states
so guess where there money comes from, you guessed it students. I like to think of it in these terms. Here at Ross the students are needed to pay the bills, some make it some don't. Medical schools in the states could not have been wrong on all the students here at Ross, just some of them.
Ross #1 med school in the carribean.
