Foramen vs Ostium

Sorry, I'm not posting questions with answers like the senior members do, am currently taking embryo and have a small doubt I cannot find the answers to so far...

in the heart development, there's foramen primum and secundum, and then once they get involved in some defects then they seem to become ostium primum and secundum. Are they the same things, or what's the difference between them??

I think Ostium Primum is a synonym for Foramen Primum, I was tripped up by this too since my text (Langman's Medical Embryology) uses Ostium and Dr. P uses Foramen Primum.
