Hey guys, I'm waiting on my usmle step 1 score... How reliable is doing the oasis trick? I've heard its about 80%. My question is, how come its so low. wouldn't the computer know that you did pass so why would it let you reregister for step 1 if you passed it.

OASIS is 100% accurate. The steps to this OASIS trick is first logging on to OASIS, and checking the score reporting date. That is the first step, and the most important. If there is not date listed under the respective test, then do NOT go on. 2nd step, if to then apply with the IWA link to the USMLE step 1 exam again. After you select the test, it wont let you apply, and will say a red message that says you passed

As future doctors get used to the fact that NOTHING is 100 percent. That being said I imagine OASIS. If done properly is probably about 99.9 percent reliable. If ECFMG update their database correctly (spot one for human error to lower reliability) and if students check under OASIS on ecfmg.org to make sure their scores have been submitted before retrying to register for the exam under IWA on ecfmg.org (site number 2 for human error to effect reliability. Then it is 100 percent.

For step 2, the oasis trick is even more reliable. If u continues to get interview invites AFTER your scores have been reported then you know you have passed for sure. Programs continuously get updated scores.
