Just was wondering how the USMLE minimum passing score changed over the years. I remember the USMLE step 1 passing score was 75/179 few years back and not sure about step 2. Over the past 10 years how did these scores change? Anybody knows?

Currently passing for step 1 and 2 is 75/182 can some one tell us what were the passing score 10 years back onward. Thats just for information and hope somebody can help us with an answer. thank you

in each case, the 3 digit score correlated with a 75... i.e., 176/75, 179/75, and currently 182/75.

the exam is 7 blocks of 50 questions each, or 350 questions. not all the questions are used (i believe 50 are experimental questions that will not count towards your score, you won't know which ones are experimental).

so roughly, if you get 182/300 of the questions that count, you pass (=60%).

So 176 is the lowest 3 digit passing score in the history of the USMLE?

75/176 75/179 75/182?

so the next will be 75/185 :)
