Went this morning to my first preceptorship experience. Man, was it great. My preceptor asked tons of questions, thank G-d that I was able to answer most of them. He could of pimped me all the way, but was very kind. Pharm at SMU really prepared me. I saw 6 patients, 5 of which were diabetics. He went into all subjects: neuro, anatomy, pharm, path, etc. He even let me do things like check the patients ears, check their respiration, etc. I felt like I was now in clinicals. He said we would go by systems, and eventually by the end of the semester, I will be doing the whole physical. The patients were nice, and very cooperative.

I would have it no other way. I don't regret coming to SMU from Ross, don't regret coming to Maine. I Love it here.
Good to hear that.

Some of the attributes of a good physician are a well rounded undergraduate education, good communication skills and attention to detail. Physicians lacking some of these skills would not inspire confidence in their abilities and it's a bit worrisome that some medical students posting here have such poor elementary grammar skills, confusing such things in their posts as of for have or their for there etc.
