For all the Saba alumni, and/or current students, who have were accepted without MCAT scores: how did you do, or anticipate to do, on the USMLEs?
Is there a correlation between the two?
Why didn't you take the MCAT in August. It is silly to limit yourself to Saba because of the MCAT. But I guess it is too late now.

I don't recall stating that I was addmitted to Saba, so I'm not "late" at all. I was just wondering how people do on the USMLEs if they don't take the MCAT, and if there is a correlation between the two.
Hey people pass. Some are very successful but you totally missed my point. With those grades Saba will accept you. If they don't with those grades I will never post on here again. I am that sure. Why didn't you take August MCAT and try a couple of US medical schools while waiting. Do you know how bad it is living on Saba? You will find out. To be there to see the look on your face when you land at the airport or get off the boat for the first time. Then you will wish you atleast tried. However I worked at a hospital with Saba residents. They performed relatively well and seemed to me like they will make average to above average attendings.

Okay, we get it...CJK hates the island.
I didn't take the MCAT and so far I'm doing fine here at Saba. I canceled my MCAT registration when I got accepted here. And I don't care what anybody who doesn't know all the details about my situation think.
It's like this in my opinion: If you study your tail off like those who have done well on the USMLE step 1, you should expect to do well. Saba helps prepare it's students well.
Our clinical coordinator told the first semester class that first time passing rate for last year was 88.2% and in the high 90's for those taking it a second time when she spoke to us a couple of months ago.
wolfvgang22,
Yes I hate Saba (the island). No I do not hate Saba the school. Freeky zeeky is applying for later and should of attempted the MCAT to give themself more options. They didn't do that so oh well. There is nothing wrong with what you did and hey you are further ahead of me so I take my hat off to you. I was just trying to make a point, and that point was directed towards freeky zeeky and whoever may come across this thread. Exhaust all US options then go Carib. If you go Carib however vist the schools you are looking to attend before shelling out a dime.
I think mas3ud grew up in a shack in rural Iowa. No spoonfed, spoiled people there.

wow, i actually grew up in a shack in the suburbs of kentucky.....you were very close to the mark.
Why didn't you go to Pikeville. They seem to accept alot of instate people dude? It was wrong of me to say what I said I apologize. I guess it is easier for some to adjust than others on Saba.

Don't listen to CJK Saba is beautiful and a great island so far (only been here 3 days or so). I would think MCAT's would hold no weight in comparison to USMLE's...
bigkap87 is an ****. You could of said Saba is beautiful without taking a shot at me. Just for that I hope My store runs out of everything you like and you have to eat tuna out of a can for a week until the next boat comes in.

hahaha that is pretty funny! no offense to what I was saying... you always get differing opinions no matter where you go... just giving my two cents not taking a shot at ya... btw the tuna is great here! hahaha
Salutations:
Don't be cruel CJK. We're all on the same island here. Just make the best of it and in the ends, your dreams will be attainable. Let's hope that My Store does not run out of food or else I will have to make a trip to Windwardside (and I'm not looking forward to that). Ciao.

Ah, CJk, you exagerrate just a little...or you must not like much besides tuna in a can.
If you don't go to the store until the late afternoon on Saturday I can promise they will be sold out of bread, though, and then you have to wait until monday morning to get fresh bread.
Like everything else in life, the early bird gets the worm around here.
