Damn, Yoda, it's like your life was well spent on the rock.
Don't forget to get more beer and cheaper one so that you can save for the next hurricane. stay safe and don't try to play with the winds like aguy I just saw on channel 8 news. Stupid reporter;)

this is the second coming of camille. winds are at 160 mph with gusts close to 200 mph. i really feel for N.O. because much of the city may be under 10 feet of water by weeks end. biloxi with their beautiful hotel casinos may be washed away. this is devastating. anyone in the area needs to leave.

When I was a kid, I remember my dad taking pictures of Camille's aftermath. It looked like Hiroshima. Things aren't looking good for the home team in N.O. I sure hope their levy system holds. My happy **** would be on I-55 heading North.....way North.
The interstates are parking lots right now, i am at my parents house witch is abou 150 miles north west of the city, but the city is in trouble.
If the city gets a major direct hit, the levees will actually hold water in the city. The city is located in a bowl that is anywhere form 5 to 15 feet below sealevel, it is bordered on the not by ponatrain lake and on the south by the mississipi river and the gulf.
There are about 150K in new orleans who cant evacute, they are the poor and homeless that have no way outta the the, the superdome will be opened as a shelter, but this is a big a$$ storm.
All of my family that lives in the new orelans area left last night around midnight to head up here. At my parents house we have gased up the cars are the generators.
folks its looking bad.

I dont wish the storm on anyone, but i hope it shifts and does not hit the city, it cant handle it. 50 miles to either side it will still cause dammage, but the land is better suited to handle the storm surge, alot less folks will die if it does not hit the city.
Its not a question of protecting your proprty anymore, its about protecting life.
