View Full Version : Orientation details for Fall2005?
I would like to have some details for the orientation on 29th... where and what time it will be, and what should I bring?
I don't live in the RH, so I sort of miss the chance to get these information before I start.
Thanks!!

bring your laptop so that it can be configured, also bring your wallet if you're not in uniform. otherwise, you can expect a $25 then $50 then $75 fine.

Wow, they really aren't giving you newbies a grace period for uniforms...sounds like this semester will be interesting

Boring?
I liked orientation very much. It was very helpful in getting prepared for the new life of being a medical student. Here, you get to meet all the schools profs and executives running the show behind the scenes.
You also learn protocol and what is and isnt allowed in school.
A police officer from the Royal Cayman Police will also speak about safety (although there is no crime)
You also get your class schedule.
Our orientation took us until about 2 or 3pm.

Some people were interested some people weren't. It is a long day and alot of people grew tired and restless. But overall, I'm glad that I stayed it was informative, I would suggest that everyone commit to the whole day, Also digicell and butter field back will probabaly be at the RH to help you set up accounts with them. I recommend them both, but if you do lose your ATM they will charge you 25CI. Don't wait to the last minute or the lines will be forever, I waited 1.5 hrs to get a digicell cell and minutes.

Dear All,
Orientation is to make sure you understand the ins and outs of SMU. If you choose not to attend and then don't know where to go for questions or procedures, then do not complain.
I believe orientation is usefull. For the Housing Department, if students are not there and then do not comply with RH/RS policies, there will be no excuses like:
" Sir, I did not know, nobody told me";)
So basically, you take your own risks. Do not attend, you miss the information, then take it upon yourself to catch up during the semester...
