Has anyone starting sept 1 been able to obtain the book Greatest Benefit to Mankind? Everyone I have talked to says its out of print and will not be reprinted. Also, if we cant get this text who or how do we contact AUC to find out what the other text will be. It would be nice to have a book for the class befor we start.

Greatest what? I actually got this off barnes and noble(bn.com) and it shipped (should arrive tomorrow). The only book I couldn't get was the Imaging Atlas of Human Anatomy. Anybody wanna trade? :lol:

If you type in the title and not the ISBN, or use this ISBN: 0393319806, you get a paperback edition instead of "trade cloth" edition(huh?). And it's only 19.99 instead of the 33 bucks I paid for the other edition.... bastards!!

I just did a search on amazon.com and it's $13.27 new. It's $6.99 if you don't mind a used copy.

Well I tried all the local B&N and such with no luck. But get this I found The Greatest Benefit to mankind: A medical History of Humanity from antiquity to the present by porter under isbn0002151731. Same book I think, at least the pages match the amazon sample pages that I checked. Got it used for 6 bucks. Thanks for the input all, I was not able to find it here in so cal. Hope those that ordered it on line get it.
