When I started, it wasn't a requirement. I don't think it is a requirement, but just call up the admissions people. Have you or have you not taken the MCAT?

ajanco If you took them the school wants your score, If not then you can apply without them.

Hello guys,
When I first took the MCAT in April of 03 I did pretty crappy (19O). I thought I would try again and took it this August. I seriously doubt I did any better even though my practice tests ranged from 22-24. For some reason I think the practice tests don't equate to the real thing. I have a good GPA (3.76) and lots of research (clinical and basic science), volunteer, leadership, LORs, etc. I know that SC doesn't even require the MCAT but I will report it since they want to know the scores if you did take it. I'm just wondering if I will still have a chance to get in with a crappy MCAT. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Yes that is true but most people say that you will get a score similar to your AAMC practice tests. On my first try I went down 4 points. Whuds, what is your take on admission? You've helped me out before and now I'm in need of a good opinion.

IMO, you could be admitted with what you posted here without another MCAT,
As far as St. Chris goes.
It looks like the rest of your app is strong.
We could see you in Dec. if you apply.
Cheers.

I really think they could care less about teh MCAT. I think GPA and extracurriculars are more important.

honestly...in my opinion...you will not have a problem being accepted. you have nothing to worry about. your gpa is very strong, and you have taken the mcat...regardless of your poor score, you will get in. after all, there are many that have been accepted who never even took it. it is not a requirement. just write good essays and get your LORs and do well in the interview (which also wont be a problem). if you have any questions, let me know.
