Hey I just wanted to know if anyone had links to student websites that go to AUC. Perhaps any online photo albums? Student association website? I find that the official school website is a little lacking about student life, and the pictures and info aren't exactly up to date.

I have been trying to do this for some time now. I have a ton of pics, unfortunately, they are all very large, and I don't have a decent program (like Photoshop) to resize them into a web-friendly style. I have a website, webhosting with nearly unlimited bandwidth, pics, and would be more than happy to write up some things, but I am not proficient at web design in the least. :(
So until I get the time (and inclination) to get off my duff and do it, I don't know of any.
www.aucstudents.cjb.net is Coy's site, and he has a little current information, but not sure if that is what you are looking for.
Good luck! :)
Hey *****. If your using Windows, you can use "paint" to resize your photos. Just go to "accessories", open "paint" program, and open the pic. Once opened, select "image" from the top pull-down menu and select "stretch/skew". The horizontal and vertical views will have %'s. For example, if you want to shrink the pic in half, select 50% for both horiz and vert.
You're welcome to use the ValueMD photo album if you wish. We can also create special albums and/or forums for whichever school organization....the latter we can make public or private and even create usergroups if anyone is interested. Let me know if there's anything we can do to help :D .

Well, it's not so much a problem of size in pixels, it's more a problem in size of the file. Like most of my pics are over a meg each. Don't want to be DLing each of those when viewing a photo gallery, even with thumbnails. I know on broadband it isn't a huge problem, but even then it can take time. :(

when you resize them to into smaller dimensions and save them as JPEG the file size will be a lot smaller. For example, a 800x600 picture saved as JPEG with a decent compression quality (~8 ) is less than 200Kb. You can download a shareware version of the popular Paint Shop Pro on the web and it'll do the job for you easily. If you need more help with post-processing your digital photos feel free to contact me!
Hi all,
I'm planning to apply for Jan/2004 semester. If I get admitted, my promise to u all is that I will develop the website for prospective students. I'm doing my Bachelors in Computer Science. So, I'm very very good at web programming and other multimedia stuff. I have the software and everything on my computer. So, if no one comes along before Jan to build the website and if I get admitted, rest assured that we will create the best website with in the given constraints.
Cheers.....

Actually I am almost done  I am doing clinicals now. It wasn't hard for me to get admitted to AUC, but the first semester was quite horrible. Biochemistry is a killer! I knew a couple AUC students with a degree in CS also. You might not know it but you'll see that your computer skill will be an advantage for your study at AUC, not to mention how popular you'll be among those crying for help with their computers :D
