Hi St. Chris students,

Since so many students are having problems getting the Teri Loan, and the fact that the admin isn't really pursuing any other options of financial aid, can we, at least, for our ownsake, get a tally of how many students applied for Teri, how many got approved, and how many rejected, so that we can inquire to the admin, just what's going on with the whole financial aid scenario?

Is it only the few who can afford the school can actually attend and complete their medical education @ St. Chris?

I think St. Chris should realize the importance of having the proper financial aid/loan sources for their current as well as prospective students, if the school is going to retain/attract students!

I don't see what this will do? Teri is very strict in lending. The college can do nothing to change that. I would love better options but Teri is about good credit and if you don't have it (I've got some problems myself) then you are out of luck. If turned down by Teri make sure you apply as credit ready and not credit worthy there seems to be different standards. Also apply a couple time not just once. I just heard it took one person 3 times.

Cheers

In addition to saying if they were approved or rejected, people should indicate if they used a co-signer, as many people don't have this option.

For me: Rejected - No Co-signer - Problem: One 90 day late payment on a revolving credit line 4 years ago. Only outstanding debt is student loans.

BTW, st chris is still actively persueing additional loan programs. I'm sure they are, but I think the problems people have are the glacial speed at which they are doing so, the fact that other educational instutions that have been around for a similar length of time have alternative loan options, and the lack of updates to the student body about progress/lack of progress during the last 8 months with the exception of "We are looking into it"

I was approved as credit-ready on my own loan and I'm waiting for a decision on my co-signer for a second teri loan. I didn't notice that it took them too long, but I have decent credit so that may have made things go a little bit easier. I'll post again about the decision on the co-signer portion.
