I am a pre-med student (psychology major, chemistry minor) at the University of Alabama. I have a 2.9 gpa, but i still have about a year left to try to bring it up, i work as an anesthesia tech to both pay for school and gain medical experience. I have letters of recommendation from 2 prominent surgeons and 2 from the anesthesiologists i work for. My question is, would i stand a chance of gaining acceptance to saba with my low gpa, or will they look at everything?....my dream is to be an anesthesiologist, so any helpful comments would be very appreciated

Thanks,
Aaron

i think you have a very good chance. the best thing to do is to apply and see. according to saba website the average gps for students that get admitted is a 3.0. but Saba usally looks at the whole package than just numbers.

Salutations "aaron1483":

Try to bring up your GPA a little bit more. At the moment, I would say you have a pretty decent chance of getting accepted, especially with your extracurricular activities. Saba looks at the entire applicant when they consider an applicant for admissions, so it looks promising for you at the moment. Try to bring up your GPA (if nothing else, to give yourself more confidence in your studies) and you may even consider taking the MCATs (if you think you can do fairly well on it) which may further ensure your acceptance. Good luck. Ciao.

I agree with Plabon and BTH. Since you have a year left take the classes...study hard and bring your gpa up as much as you can. With your background and 2.9 gpa I think you have a good chance....but nothing is guaranteed...SABA looks at the whole package not just your number. One year is enough for you to raise the number up and plan on taking the MCAT although not required. Good Luck!
