I've been a lurker for a while.
Being a Canadian, I'm wondering why Royal Bank doesn't have us on their approved list for the line of credit they offer.
Many other schools are on the list - including sgu, ross, auc, saba, st. james, MUA, etc.....
just wondering if anyone has looked into this yet.
I'm trying to figure out who to contact about this.
Cheers,

I did the search, and didn't find a whole lot.
there were people who said that they were told SMU is not on the list.
At my local Royal Bank branch, the girl I dealt with said that as
far as she knew they were using the availability list from HRSDC (something related to student loans)
Is there a canadian(or anyone in the "know") out there who can tell me how the federal/provincial loans work for SMU? I know you get a certain amount per week, but for SMU what is that amount?
Royal Bank offers a line of credit at prime - but only for schools on the list.
I'm trying to figure out how to get smu on the list - I've heard its mostly paperwork that the school needs to fill out, but I think it's just a question of
getting it filled out now..... there are many other schools that are on that list.

someone PM me about RBC, and I just gone through this horrendeous process and I am happy to share it with all of you. Here is wat I wrote to answer one of our collegues
ONLY ROYAL BANK OF CANADA has a special package for medical students, and you can get 150 000 CAD $ without a co-signer. Since SMU is approved on the master list of international recognized universities, here's the list (SMU is on p 216)
http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/hip/cslp/ImportantLinks/02_il_MasterListIndex.shtml (http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/hip/cslp/ImportantLinks/02_il_MasterListIndex.shtml)
It is possible that even the people working at this bank does not have a clue about this list. Therefore, it's important to mention it, and tell them, that SMU is approved, therefore you're in title for the loan.
you DON'T NEED A CO-SIGNER.
